Mewing chart
The before-and-after images, and what they usually show.
A mewing chart is a before-and-after image, usually shared as a progress post, meant to show a jaw becoming more defined over months of tongue-posture practice. Read carefully, most of them demonstrate something real but different from what they claim. The two photographs almost never share a camera height, a head angle, a lighting setup or a body weight, and each of those changes measured jaw width and apparent gonial angle more than any amount of tongue posture could. The honest way to use a chart is to control what the chart usually does not: same distance, same lens, same height, chin level, even light on both sides, and a gap of months rather than weeks. Done that way it becomes a record of body composition and posture, which are the things that actually moved.
